RWD Advanced Builder Form - Page Tab Controls
Sub-tab
Field
Type
Function of control / Description
Notes
NA
Page Name
Text Box
Whatever is in this box becomes part of the URL for the page itself: www.server.com/site container/Page Name.  The page name is the same as the document name in FirstClass.
If this page is named "Home Page" (without the quotes), it will be considered the first page of your site, and when your site is uploaded on a web browser, that will be the opening page. If you do not have a page named Home Page, the web browser will simply open the folder containing the RWD files and display the contents of the container as a list of documents and folders.
Any page with a name other Home Page must have that name included in the URL in order for the page to open in a web browser.  For example, the URL for a page called Home Page in a teacher's site would have the URL:  http://www.schoolsite.com/teachersite   whereas a page called Events that is located in that same site would have the URL: http://www.schoolsite.com/teachersite/Events.
NA
Subject
Text Box
The name of the page as displayed in the Browser Window Title bar and that returned by internet search engines.
The subject of the page should be short and to the point but can be more descriptive than the page name.
NA
Abstract
Text Box
This text is often returned as the description of your page when your page is found by an internet search engine.
An abstract is not required but is worth the effort if you have a larger system in which content will be located by search engines.
NA
Use local form settings, not Admin settings (if allowed)
Check box
If the site in which the page is being built is configured such that the local page builders can override the central Administrator's settings, this field must be checked in order to tell the web page to look at the local form settings for authority. Un-checking the field will return the web page to the administrator's authority for format and some content.
This field may not appear on some versions of the RWD form and only has an effect in certain circumstances.  Users who experience an unexpected result when they un-check this field should check it again to return the web page to the centrally configured Administrator settings.
NA
This page is approved
Check box
Approves / Un-approves a web page for viewing on the web
This control is only available to those users with Approver status within a site and is used to monitor and approve pages for release to be viewable on the web.
NA
Page Width
Percent - number selection
RWD can be set to force a web page to take up only a certain percentage of the web browser's window width.  When values of less than 100 are entered in this field, the RWD web page will take up that percentage of the width of the web browser window (with a margin on either side of the page containing the page background color or background image displayed in the margin).  If this field is set to a number greater than 100, the RWD web page will take on the width (in pixels) of the value in the field.
Setting the value of the field to 780 will make the web page always appear at 780 pixels wide, regardless of the screen resolution on the user's computer.  This can be very helpful when using graphics for banners and headers in a page as the page width can be set to the same size as the images (which almost always appear at their pixel width and do not scale up or down with RWD).   Values of less than 100 will cause the RWD page itself to scale down a percentage of the width of the browser window, which can vary dramatically from computer to computer, based on screen resolution settings.  Generally, we recommend an absolute pixel size if you are using a banner image and you wish your page to appear in the same proportion regardless of the screen resolution of the user's computer.  If you want your page to take advantage of FirstClass's ability to automatically resize your page to take advantage of the user's screen resolution, set the value in the control to 99.
NA
Shadow
Text selection
No Shadow: objects on page will have no shadow around them  //// Shadow 1: objects on web page will have one of two slightly different shadow effects applied ////   Shadow 2: Applies the second of two possible shadow effects to objects on the web page ////   Solid Border: Applies a thin solid black border  to objects on the web page
The objects affected by this setting are the Header Section or the Header Links Bar (whichever is lower down on the page) as it borders the area of the page containing the Page Body, Navigation Sidebar, and Information Sidebar.  These last three elements are also individually affected by the border effect.
NA
Skin
Text  selection
If set at any value other than custom, applies the selected skin setting to page (format, fonts and colors).  If set to custom, the web page will use values set in the various fields of the RWD form.
LEGACY FEATURE - RWD is designed to automatically pick up the RWDE Administrator formatting settings for each page, even if the user has instructed the system to look at the local page for formatting settings PROVIDED that the user has not made any changes to the default values in the RWD form. Once a value is changed in the local RWD form, the system will adopt that value for display on the web page.  If the Use local form settings.. control is checked and the user selects a skin, RWD will assume treat the skin as authoritative and display those values on the web.
NA
Background color of page
Color Selection
Select a color in this control to set the background color of the web page.  The setting will be applied to all areas of the page unless a background color or image is selected for the Header Section, Navigation Sidebar or Information Sidebar - selections in these areas will override the page background for that section.
If a page is set to a specific pixel width or set to a value of less than 99, a margin will appear on either side of the page itself in the browser window.  This margin will take on the page background color.
NA
Background image of page
Text Box
If this box is filled in with a path and file name to a valid image, RWD will apply that image as a background image to the whole page.
A valid entry in this field (with a valid path and file name of an actual image file) will override the Background Color field setting.   An example of a valid path / filename to an image called 'mygraphic.jpg' that has been uploaded to a folder called 'images', that is located in the same container as the page itself is:  images/mygraphic.jpg
NA
Tile Image
Text selection
If you selected a background image for your page, this menu will let you select how the image is displayed on the page
tiling is the most common way to show a background image provided it is small and repeats well on the page.  If using a large image such as a photograph, you may choose to place only one instance of the image on the page and set it to one of the locations listed in this control.

Title & Subtitle
Format Title (Font Alignment)
Text selection
This changes how the Title is aligned in the Header Section
It is important to remember that the alignment of the Title is not based on the whole page, but rather the area available for the title.  A large logo on the left side of the page will move the title area to the right and all alignments will be relative to the left of the available space.
Title & Subtitle

Logo
Logo Placement
Text selection
This allows you to choose to display a logo and, if you do, where to put it.
Even if a valid logo image is available and the path to it is entered in the Image path/Filename field, the image will not appear on the page if this field is set to "No Logo".  You must tell RWD where to put the image by selecting an option in the drop down menu.
Logo
Logo Image Path/ Filename
Text Box
This field contains the path and file name of your uploaded logo image file
As is the case for all images in the RWD Builder form, you must upload the image file to your site and set the path to it.  See the RWD Builder help relating to Images and paths for more information on this subject.
Logo
Scale Image (% or orig)
Percent
This scales the logo based on a percentage of it's original size.
Be careful when using this feature - generally it is best to pre-size your images instead of scaling them on the fly in the web page.  Animated gif files will re-scale each time the image 'plays' so the image will either disappear or expand beyond the limits of the viewable page if this feature is used.
Logo
Slide Show
Checkbox
Activates a javascript slide show when multiple images are listed in the Logo Image path / Filename field.
You must have more than one image referenced in the Logo Image Path Filename field for this feature to work.  Be very careful to make sure that the filesize of your images is not too big or the page will take longer to load.
Logo
Pause
Checkbox
When checked, sets the slideshow to pause when a user hovers their mouse cursor over the images on the web
This feature lets you set a slightly faster slide show transition rate while giving the user the opportunity to reveiw and image for a longer period of time - effectively 'pausing' the slideshow
Logo
Speed
Number Selection
Sets the time each image in the slideshow will remain displayed before transitioning to the next slide
Different effects can be achieved with longer or shorter display times - more complicated images should be displayed for more time than simple images.
Logo
Link Logo (on click)
Text Box
The link (URL) which will open when a web user clicks on your logo image on the web is entered in this field.
If referring to a web page in another web site, the full HTTP syntax must be used to qualify the URL:  http://URL
If referring to a page in the local site, simply name the page. If referring to a marker, use standard FirstClass syntax (#Markername)
Logo

Placement of Logo 2
Text selection
This allows you to choose to display a second logo and, if you do, where to put it.  Placement of the second logo are limited to the options in the drop down list of the control.
Placement of the second logo is limited to the options in the drop down list of the control.

Link Opens In
Text selection
Most link fields in RWD can be set to force a link to open a new browser window when clicked, or to move to the link using the existing browser window.  Use this field to set this option for BOTH logos.
Generally, links to other web sites are best opened in a new browser window so that the web user can view the new site without 'losing' your site (when they close the new site, your web page is still open in the original browser window).  If your link leads to another page within your site, we recommend using the Open in same Window option so that the user is not forced to manage a number of windows.
Scrolling Message
Include Scrolling Message
Checkbox
If this is checked then your Header Section can contain up to two locally defined scrolling messages or announcements.
The Header Section must be turned on  AND there must be content in at least one of the message fields for this feature to be visible on the web.  Note:  some settings in the RWDE Admin form can affect the display of local messages - in some cases hiding your messages entirely.  If you are experience odd and inexplicable behavior with respect to your messages and how they are being displayed (or not displayed) on your web page, contact your Site Administrator to determine the cause.
Scrolling Message
Scrolling Width (%)
Number Selection
Changes the percentage of the page width (from the left) that is occupied by the scrolling message.
Setting this value to 100 will cause the scrolling message to scroll right across the entire page. The default value of 40 will have the effect that the message will only scroll across the left-most 40% of the page.
Scrolling Message
Format Scrolling Message (Font)
Text selection
This allows you to change the font of the Scrolling Message.
Since any font displayed on the web must be installed in the local web user's computer, use fonts that are as common as possible.  We recommend Verdana or Arial for non-serif fonts and Times New Roman for a font with serifs.
Scrolling Message
Format Scrolling Message (Font Color)
Color Selection
This allows you to change the color of the font in the Scrolling Message
Try to use a font color that compliments your page while still standing out from the background color.   The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Scrolling Message
Format Scrolling Message (Font Size)
Number Selection
This changes the size of the font in the Scrolling Message
Changing the font size for the Scrolling Message will give the section reserved for it more space and make the message itself stand out more.  The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Scrolling Message
Format Scrolling Message (Font Style)
Text selection
This changes the style of the font in the Scrolling Message.
The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Scrolling Message
Scrolling Width (%)
Number Selection
The Scrolling Message(s) can be configured to run across less than the whole width of the width of the page if desired.   The value in this field determines the percentage of the width of the page that the Scrolling Message occupies (starting from the left side of the page)
This feature is entirely a matter of taste so experimentation is key to achieving the results you want.
Scrolling Message
Message A
Text Box
This is the first message that will be displayed in your Scrolling Message
The Header Section must be turned on  AND there must be content in at least one of the message fields for this feature to be visible on the web.
Note that there are some special tags that allow for the inclusion of images in the scrolling message.  At any point in the message you may include an image using the following syntax:
[img=imagepath/imagefilename]
Scrolling Message
Message A Link
Text Box
This is the link to URL (if any) for your first scrolling message.
The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Scrolling Message

Message A
ToolTips
Text Box
This field allows you to have a different message pop-up when a user hovers over top of a particular message (in this case, the A message)
If no text is entered in the ToolTips field, the message itself will appear in the pop-up window when a user hovers over the message.
Scrolling Message
Message B
Text Box
This is the second message that will be displayed in your Scrolling Message
The Header Section must be turned on  AND there must be content in at least one of the message fields for this feature to be visible on the web.
Note that there are some special tags that allow for the inclusion of images in the scrolling message.  At any point in the message you may include an image using the following syntax:
[img=imagepath/imagefilename]
Scrolling Message
Message B Link
Text Box
This is the link to URL (if any) for your second scrolling message.
The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Scrolling Message

Message B
ToolTips
Text Box
This field allows you to have a different message pop-up when a user hovers over top of a particular message (in this case, the B message)
If no text is entered in the ToolTips field, the message itself will appear in the pop-up window when a user hovers over the message
Scrolling Message
Scrolling Message Link Open in
Text selection
This determines how the scrolling message link(s) will open when a user clicks on them from the web. There is only one option for both messages
Usually, links within your site should open in the same window while links to other sites should open in new browser windows so as to avoid 'losing' the web user to another site.  The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Scrolling Message
Use Custom Attributes for Scrolling Message
Checkbox
Reveals the fields required to set custom attributes for the scrolling message
.
Scrolling Message
Scroll Direction
Text Selection
Determines the direction of the scrolling message - from right to left (default) or from left to right.
.
Scrolling Message
Loop
Text Selection
You can set the scrolling message to 'replay' itself any number of times - from once to a continuous replay (default)
.
Scrolling Message
Bounce
Checkbox
changes the behavior of the scrolling message such that the message will bounce from side to side, back and forth.
This setting is really meant for very special circumstances only as the bounce effect is somewhat annoying unless used carefully.  We envision it being used when you want a graphic to fly in to the page, bounce once, and stop - but you are free to come up with your own uses.
Scrolling Message
Scrolling Speed
Text Selection
Sets the number of pixels that the message will advance across the screen each time the message refreshes
This field is used in conjunction with the next field in the form, the refresh rate for the message.  Generally, the larger the number in this field, the more 'jerky' the message will appear
Scrolling Message
Refresh Rate
Text Selection
Sets the number of milliseconds between refreshes of the scrolling message. The higher the number, the smoother the scrolling message.
.
Banner Image
Primary Banner Image
Text Selection
This determines whether or not your Header Section will display a Graphical Banner or Flash across the top - you must supply a valid path and file name for this image.
Upload your banner image to your images folder and give it a name that identifies its purpose - eg. Banner1.jpg.    The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web.
Chose from a graphical image or a Flash File or no Banner Image.
Banner Image
Slide Show
Checkbox
Activates a javascript slide show when multiple images are listed in the Logo Image path / Filename field.
You must have more than one image referenced in the Logo Image Path Filename field for this feature to work.  Be very careful to make sure that the filesize of your images is not too big or the page will take longer to load.
Banner Image
Pause
Checkbox
When checked, sets the slideshow to pause when a user hovers their mouse cursor over the images on the web
This feature lets you set a slightly faster slide show transition rate while giving the user the opportunity to reveiw and image for a longer period of time - effectively 'pausing' the slideshow
Banner Image
Speed
Number Selection
Sets the time each image in the slideshow will remain displayed before transitioning to the next slide
Different effects can be achieved with longer or shorter display times - more complicated images should be displayed for more time than simple images.
Banner Image
Banner Alignment
Text Selection
Set the banner to display left justified, centered, or on the right side of the page
Allows for more variety of graphical layout. The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Banner Image
Banner Image or Flash Path/ Filename
Text Box
This is the path to the image or Flash file that is going to be used for the Graphical Banner
A banner image can help to brand a page or enhance the way it looks.  Be careful to use an image that is not too tall in pixels and is as wide as the most common browser resolution for your user base (usually a minimum of 800 pixels wide).  If using a banner image, consider setting the Page Width value (on the Page Tab) to the same width, in pixels, as the banner image.  The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web
Banner Image
Link To
Text Box
This is the link to URL (if any) that will open when a web user clicks on your banner image
The Header Section must be turned on in order for this field to be visible on the web.  Links to outside URL's must be fully qualified with the HTTP:// syntax
Banner Image

Link Open Behavior
Text Selection
Determines if the link that is activated when a web user clicks on the banner image opens in the same browser window or if it opens in a new browser window
Generally, links to outside sites should be set to open in a new window so that you don't 'lose' the user when they follow the link.  Usually links to other pages in your site are best opened in the same browser window as the page that is calling the link.
Banner Image
ToolTips
Text Box
This field allows you to have a message pop-up when a user hovers over top of the Banner Image
Can be used to explain the destination of the link or any other relevant information.

Second Image Or Search
Text Selection
You can choose to include a second banner image OR a Search field or neither
Placement of the second banner image or the search field will always be opposite that of the first banner image on the web page (left - right, top - bottom)
A Search field is a preconfigured object that allows the web user to enter text that will act as the criteria for a site-wide search.  There are no user-editable aspects to the search and the search is conducted on all pages and subcontainers in the root website conference.  Results will display in a standard FirstClass search results page which can be slightly customized using the Images Tab of the RWDe Administrator form.

Sets the time each image in the slideshow will remain displayed before transitioning to the next slide
Different effects can be achieved with longer or shorter display times - more complicated images should be displayed for more time than simple images.
Banner Image

Banner Image Path/ Filename
Text Box
The path and file name of the second banner image
It is wise to constrain the height and width of the second banner image such that it matches the first image and doesn't force the web page to become too wide (which it will if the banner images are set to left and right positions and the combined width of the images exceeds the width of the page itself)

Determines if the link that is activated when a web user clicks on the second banner image opens in the same browser window or if it opens in a new browser window
Generally, links to outside sites should be set to open in a new window so that you don't 'lose' the user when they follow the link.  Usually links to other pages in your site are best opened in the same browser window as the page that is calling the link.
Banner Image

Tooltips
Text Box
This field allows you to have a message pop-up when a user hovers over top of the second Banner Image
Can be used to explain the destination of the link or any other relevant information.
Banner Image

Tooltips Styles

This field allows for very sophisticated formatting of a pop-up window.  With special syntax, you can completely customize the pop-up window's format, transparency, duration of display, and include images and even set hyperlinks
See the help document entitled  "Help with the ToolTips feature"  for more details about how to use the advanced ToolTips feature.
Section Format
Header Section Background Color
Color Selection
This control sets the background color for the entire Header Section unless a graphic is used.
If using a color for your Header Section, experiment with colors that compliment the Page background color or image and one that contrasts well with the images and text on the page.
Section Format
Use Image
Checkbox
If this is selected, then the Header Section will look in the Background Image Path / Filename control for a valid path to a graphical file that will be used as the background of the section instead of a solid color.
See the RWD Builder help relating to Images and paths for more information on this subject.
Section Format
Background Image Path/ Filename
Text Box
If the "Use Image" checkbox is selected, then this text box will indicate where to find the image that RWD to use for the background of the Header Section.  The image will be tiled in the section.
This setting overrides any color selection for the Header Section background. If you wish to display a solid color, clear the image path and file name from this control.  See the RWD Builder help relating to Images and paths for more information on this subject.
Section Format
Layout of Objects (top down)
Text selection
Select an option from the list to determine the order in which the Banner Image, Header Section, Scrolling Message, and Header Links Bar appear on the page (from the top of the web page).
Interesting effects and layouts can be achieved by switching the order in which the affected objects appear.  In order to appear, however, a section must have its master switch turned ON and there must be something for the section to display (content, links, graphics, etc.)

Include Header Bar
Checkbox
This checkbox, when checked, will activate the Header Links Bar feature on the web page.  All subsequent controls in this tab of the RWD Builder form will only work if the Header Links Bar or the Footer Links Bar (or both) are activated.
There are some conditions that may exist that will turn this feature on even if turned off locally.  The RWDE Site Administrator can force central links to all pages regardless of the local RWD Builder form settings.
N/A
Include Footer Bar
Checkbox
A footer Links Bar which appears under the Page Body section of the web page can be activated or deactivated independently of the Header Links Bar.  The format and content of the Footer Links bar will be identical to that of the Header Links Bar however.
.
Content
Include "Home" Link
Checkbox
If this checkbox is checked then the Header bar will feature a link on the Header / Footer Bars that will have the caption "Home" and will link to the URL that is entered into the following field ("Home" Link to).
LEGACY FEATURE - This feature is really only useful on pages where HOME means something to the web user.  Sites that are created for languages where HOME is not generally understood should not use this feature or the "Back" feature but should contain these links as entries in the main content of the Bar instead.
Content
"Home" Link to
Text Box
This is the destination of the "Home" link in your Header bar.
LEGACY FEATURE - If the site home page (the page with the name "Home Page") is located in the same container as the page that you are building, you can simply enter: Home Page in this field.  If the home page of the site is in a different container, we recommend that you use the full internet syntax to create the link (e.g. http://www.sitename.com).
Content
Include "Back" Link
Checkbox
If this is checked then the Header bar will feature a link to go to the previous viewed page.
LEGACY FEATURE - This feature is slightly more complex than the HOME link because it calls a simple javascript that moves the browser to the most recent page when clicked.  If you wish to create your own BACK link in the main content of the Header Links bar, create a link that displays whatever word represents Back in your language and set the URL of the link as follows:  javascript:history.back(-1);

Add New Row
Cmd Button
This button will add a new row in the links in the Header bar.
This button adds a row at the end of the current list of links in the form which means that the link you create will appear to the right of the last link that exists in the list prior to entering the link.  To place a link in a specific place within the existing links, use the Insert New Row command button.
Content
Remove Selected Row
Cmd Button
This button will remove the selected row from the link list.
Click on the row you wish to delete and click the button to remove it from the form (and the web page).

Insert New Row
Cmd Button
This button will insert a new row above the row you have currently selected.  It gives you the option of adding links to the page at any time and placing them in the correct order.
The Insert New row functionality did not work properly in the early releases of FirstClass 8.  If you experience any unusual results when using this feature, ensure that you are using the most recent release of the FirstClass Server, Internet Services, and Client software.

Icon or Bullet Path/ Filename
Text Box
If you want an Icon or small image to appear in addition to (or instead of) a text link, enter a valid path and file name to the image you want to appear for each link.
If you include text in the Link Display Text field, the text will appear to the right of the image. If you do not include text, only the image will appear however the link will still work when the web user clicks on the image on the web page.  See the RWD Builder help relating to Images and Paths for more information on setting the path for this image.
Content
Link Display Text
Text Box
This is the text that is actually displayed as the link in the bar.
Remember that you only have the width of the web page to fit all your links (and any links sent to your page by the RWDE Site Administrator so, if possible, use short words to describe your link to ensure that the words on the Header / footer Links Bar don't get too crowded.

Header Bar Link To
Text Box
This field contains the URL that activates when the user clicks on the Link Display Text or the Image described in this particular row of form.
As always, you should decide what type of link to use - relative or absolute, based on the location of the target you are linking to and other factors.  See the RWD Builder help relating to Images and Paths for more information on Links.

If the destination of the link is a FirstClass calendar,  conference, or a document that is not a web page, select the appropriate item in the list.
If the destination of the link is a FirstClass object, this control tells RWD to keep the Header Section, Navigation Sidebar, Header Links, Information Sidebar, etc. all in place and replace the Body content with the object that is being linked to.  If linking to another Web page or a location within the existing page, select None.

Pick from list of inter Path/ Filename
Text selection
A list of images that are installed with RWD is pre-populated into this control.  Select an item from this list or enter a path and file name to a custom image that you have uploaded to your site.
RWD comes with a variety of graphics that work well for the Header Links and Footer Links bars.  If desired however, you can create your own graphic for this bar and upload it to your images file.  If you do this, you will have to enter the path and file name of your custom image in the field instead of picking an item from the list.  The image you create can be any width (it will repeat itself across the page) but it should be about 20 pixels high for best results.
Modify Colors and Fonts
Left Image
Text Box
Allows you to place an image at the very left end of the Header Links bar.
This feature is very useful if you are trying to continue an image through the Header Section (in which case the image used in the Header Links Bar is a part of that bigger image).  Another common use of this feature is to use an image to set the height of the Header Links Bar - normally the HL Bar gets it's height from the text used in the links themselves but a graphic image that is taller than the font will force the bar to open up to accommodate it.
Modify Colors and Fonts
Right Image
Text Box
Allows you to place an image at the very right end of the Header Links bar.
While not required, if you use a Left Image, we recommend you use a Right Image to balance out the alignment of the links. Images can be invisible (transparent) if being used only for spacing and alignment purposes or they can be a part of a larger image that is made up across all of the sections that collectively make up the Header Section.

Depending on the number of entries you wish to have on your Links Bar, you may have to adjust the font size to make sure that they all fit.
12 - 15 is the range for best results as extra large fonts will reduce the amount of text that will fit on the bar and smaller fonts will be difficult to read. It is sometimes desirable to have a one or two pixel difference in the regular font and the hover font size as it creates a ballooning effect when the user hovers over a particular link that can be interesting and draw even more attention to the link being focused on

Checkbox
When checked, this field will apply a format to the selected link according to the settings in the Modify Colors and Fonts tab.
Headlines and regular links can be formatted differently to add emphasis to some links.  Headlines define the beginning of a block of links which will be be segregated by the next block by a border (the border that is set in the Page tab).   A new block of links will begin at the next row that is set as a Headline.

Sets an absolute width (in pixels) for the Navigation Sidebar

Navigation Sidebar Headlines or Links (or both) can be set to ignore their background color settings and become transparent.
Options are 1) Nothing transparent (this is the default for backward compatibility with RWD 1)
2) Both Headlines and Links background colors are ignored and the items are transparent

Number Selection
This field sets the number of pixels that separate the Navigation Sidebar object from adjoining objects as well as the space between link groupings.
The default value is 2 pixels for this control so that pages created in RWD version 1 will remain unchanged.  A setting of 0 will force the Navigation Sidebar to butt up directly against the other sections above and beside it (the lowest object in the header section and the Page Body to the right or left).

Text Box

With RWD, you can place a graphical bullet next to both Headlines and Regular Links on the Navigation Sidebar if you wish.  These images need to be carefully created so that they are roughly the height (in pixels) of the text you plan to use for your Nav Sidebar.  If you place too large a graphic, it will expand the Nav Sidebar to fit the image and cause unexpected results. Again, this description covers two distinct fields that function in identical fashion (and can be set independently of each other for Headlines and Regular Links).

when Un-checked (default), the Information Sidebar will be suppressed, when checked, it will not and will display on the page (if there is an Information Sidebar to display).
By default, when you use any of the special formats to open conferences or calendars or folders, RWD suppresses the Information Sidebar feature on that page in order to make room for the object.  In some designs, you may choose to alter this behavior and preserve the Information Sidebar irrespective of the content that gets called.
